Picked up a black dash and looks like someone had a safc or a navi sitting on the top and it left behind some residue markings. i was wondering how to remove them. i tried goo gone and that did nothing. the markings are circled in black. and also the seam is starting to peel were i circled in the purple. any idea on how to seal that back down?

thanks ahead of time!

yeah im pretty pissed, this is my 2nd black dash i have had sitting in my garage. the first one had a spit in the vinyl and now this one has that. you cant find black dashes around here so i wanna fix this one up.

As for the Residue you could try simple green it usually takes off everything.
Or you could try rubbing it off and using a heat gun, just be careful how long you leave it on.
I had the same seam peeling on my old 95 and I can tell you it will get worse over time and I'm stumped on how to fix that.

I just junked a car last year with a mint black dash, that I was too lazy to pull out!!!

try using Magic Eraser from mr.clean. I had same prob on my blue dash. Dont use it for more than a few minutes at a time though, it can start to peel off the color a bit. but idk if it will harm black, it turned my blue center console black so it may not hurt yours. Another idea is to accually combine the two, using the mr.clean to scrub the goo gone. For the dash 'bubble' try popping a pinhole in it using an ink cartrage refiller syringe with a thin glue, NOT WOOD GLUE, just standard elmer's kindergarden crap. DONT USE ALOT, if too much comes out the hole it might stain. Just push the 'bubble' down with your finger, and then use a hairdryer to dry it quickly while holding it. If any comes out of the hole, wipe it with a wetnapkin before it dries. Its been 3 months since I tried it in my mom's cavalier with a black dash and its still holding as of today and you really cant see the hole. (Thats while the car sits 8 hours a day in the south carolina sun.)

P.S.: HOLD THE BUBBLE DOWN WHILE DRYING.
