I am about to put my tranny back in again after the 1G in a 2G auto swap, and just had a question. There is the reinforcement plate (a/t plate) that gets installed with the flexplate (driveplate). I have seen/heard of people using 1 and some people using 2. If using just one, it is placed between the crank and the flexplate, if two, they are putting one on either side of the flexplate.

Which is the correct way? Advantages or disadvantages of either?

Thanks,
- Jason

If you use one, it goes on the outside of the flexplate. Reinforcement plate, flex plate, then the crank. I don't see an advantage to using one between the two because the crank is already there to reinforce it, and the plate isn't any bigger diameter than the crank.

Yes. That is what I meant to say.... thanks for correcting me there.

With the one, it goes reinforcement plate, flex plate, then the crank.

Thanks

No problem, I wanted to make sure you put it in right so you don't have any problems.
