Allright so i was driving home tonight and floored it in 3rd and my clutch started slipping real bad at around 5k (awd)

Question is that my car is goin to have about 280awhp and i need a setup that will hold the abuse of daily driving for atleast a year( the occasional weekend launches and 3rd gear runs)

So i need to know what clutch kit to get , flywheel resurfaced or new, # of plates ,etc, and some prices

Input is greatly appreciated

ACT 2100 with street disk and ACT XACT Flywheel.
Thats what I installed on my car about 8 months ago and it's great.

I second the Act 2100 with there flywheel. I have a 2100 with a fidanza and i love it, but on a AWD you tend to heat it up more so the steel is better.

I picked up a ACT 2600 with Street Disk and XACT Flywheel. New throw out bearing, pivot ball, clutch fork, and new flywheel bolts. The car is not on the road as I am doing other upgrades right now but they will be done soon. I'll let you know how I like the new clutch once I finish the other upgrades. I did drive the car for a bit with the new clutch after I had my motor put in but that was only for like 15 minutes. I enjoyed those 15 minutes. :) I'll get back to you by the end of the week when the car's back on the road.

Cheers, Tom.

Go with the ACt 2100 Fidanza Flywheel and make sure to get that oem Throw out bearing. Because your not looking to make that much power the ACT2100 would be a perfect addition for you in my opinion. If you are looking to make more power in the near Future i would say ACT2900. Your call at this point. keep us posted:thumb:

I run a Fidanza 2.1 with a Fidanza flywheel. Its not a commonly done thing, but I love my Fidanza clutch. It has never failed me yet!:thumb:

Wow thanks for the fast posting

Whats the difference in the act 2100 and 2600
and i will probably get the act steel flywheel with oem throwout

i really like the centerforce duel frictshion clutch it works really well...and has been takeing a beating on 3 years now....i will need one soon but it holds up GOOD

ok im stuck someone told me that there 220hp fwd with 2100 slipped a lot so now im thinking
fidanza 3.2

oem throwout
fidanza alum. flywheel
(3.2 or 2100 for clutch)

please help . im mainly worried about which will last longer

I have a little over 20,000 mile on a Center force dual friction clutch. I put it in with the RRE no-name chromoly flywheel.

According to DSM link my car is putting about 270hp to the wheels (never been on a dyno to back it up so take it with a grain of salt). and I launch my GSX with the dual stage limiter at 5250 rpm and the the clutch seems great so far.

On my 99 GST I have a Spec Stage 3 six puck with Spec lightweight flywheel and I hate it, it chatters really bad. On my 92 awd I have a ACT 2600 with a street disc and stock flywheel and I love it

I'm using a Fidanza 3.2 (four-puck Kevlar buttons) with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel in my car and love it. I haven't gotten a chance to really play with it, since the motor's still got some issues that I need to deal with, but on a 3.5 hour drive and in the city, the clutch feels stock and doesn't chatter at all. The flywheel took a little getting used as far as how fast it revved up and down, but I only stalled it once, the first time I started my car in about five months. :) The 3.2 can also be had for about as much as a 2100 and uses the friction material instead of pressure plate clamping force for the grabbing power. I'm glad I chose it.

I run a competition clutch with a 6-puck disk and a Fidanza flywheel. It holds great i had the act 2600 with a street disk, but the competition clutch holds better and doesn't have much more pedal pressure over a stock unit.

i really like the centerforce duel frictshion clutch it works really well...and has been takeing a beating on 3 years now....i will need one soon but it holds up GOOD
I second that. i put a centerforce dual friction clutch in my car and slippage was never an issue. its feels awesome in everyday driving too
