I've done a search and didn't come up with anything useful. I recently acquired a '95 GSX, the car's a kick, but my real goal for the car is as a comfortable daily driver and reasonably competitive car at open track days and autocrosses. Here's the problem, I'm 6'3" tall, my required seating position to keep my head off the ceiling w/o a helmet is non-condusive to performance driving. When I put a helmet on I'm going to have to remove a vertebrae or recline the seat so far back that I won't be able to reach the steering wheel w/o permanently lodging my knees in the dash.

So my question is, what do you tall guys do about driving positions? I can't be the only tall guy that's had this problem, I'm not even that tall. I've been checking out seats trying to make a visual guess as to which aftermarket seat will drop my driving position the furthest. My current conclusion is that the Recaro's out of a circa DC2 ITR will drop the seating position the farthest, but that's just based on visual inspection. But, the seat is just as much of a concern as the required seating brackets. If you guys have any wisdom, toss it my way.

Oh, the car's got the fully electric driver's seat, not sure if it happens to sit higher than non-power seats or not.

I Have the same problem with seating, I'm 6'5" so I feel what youre going through. I put washers underneath the steering column to raise the steering wheel an extra half inch or so. Big difference in knee room. As for the head room problem...uh I havent found anything so far. I have a sunroof as well and so I would imagine the helmet would only make things work.

Ditch the airbag'ed steering wheel :( and install an aftermarket steering wheel along with a quick-release/extension ?

I guess the steering wheel extension isn't that bad of an idea, I'd want to make it removable so I could put the other steering wheel back in. Because tickets for removing factory safety equipment are fun, and aftermarket steering wheels look retarded in 2G's anyway, but that's definitely a viable option.

I was looking at the overall seat height, and it seems like it's high enough that I could pull some height out of the seat and solve all problems. I was hoping some other tall guys had come up against this problem (people who have owned their car more than a week :thumb: ) and found some innovative ways to lower seating height. If I'm the first to ever focus on this area... I'll let you know how it goes... after funding engine and suspension mods of course.

Thanks for the ideas so far, if anybody has anything else shoot it my way.
