When i bought my Eclipse in 02 it was the base model eclipse, and the hatch lid came with no spoiler and wiper blade, and abotu a year ago I got my car painted and got a new hatch lid put on this one came with the rear wiper blade/motor, and defroster strips. I am wondering if there is any way to wire these options up through straightwiring it with with some wire and a toggle switch. The rear wiper motor has three blue wires coming from it One the is blue/w red stripe, A blue/w white stripe, and finally a solid blue wire. Do ya'll know which is which power, ground, and wiper speed control. The defroster strip has three different spots where it comes into contact with the window, which one is which? Thanks for ya'll's time and sorry about the long post
Thanks
Andy

I don't know where the wires are in the back, but does your car already have a rear winsheild wiper toggle switch by the center vent? if it did you could get it wired up there, but I don't know if its on the RS model at all?

HA I wish mine was an RS it is just the plain jane base model eclipse. It didn't come with a tachometer, I got a new instrument cluster and put it in so I could have one. The only button on the center vent plate is the Hazard and nothing else. Does the eclipse rear wiper motor have two speeds or is it just a one speed model. I am thinking maybe if it has one speed i can guess on the wires and hope for the best! If all else fails i can take it to the dealership and see if i can order a harness to connect the motor somehow. thanks again!

woah...I thought mine was bottom of the line WTF

I didn't even know they made anything lower than the RS model.
WEll Other people who have the BASE model should post here too, and see if we can't figure out something for all of ya.

I'd say test the motor outside of the car with some low voltage stuff and maybe a fuse, and see if you can't get it to work, as for where it mounts I have no clue, but I'm sure running the wires shouldn't be to much of a problem (other then being a pain in the ass to do), and since you don't have a rear winshield wiper toggle switch, or a rear defrost switch, You could probably put your switches there, and wire a light so that you know that your rear defrost is on.

Thanks BigRand I didnt think of taking it out to test it, that would make it a lot easier!:thumb: , th ehatch lid I got when i got it painted was off of a RS+ so it is already mounted in the hatch lid, has anyone seen what the color of wires are behing the rear wiper toggle switch is? are they all blue still or do they switch color inbetween the motor and switch. Thanks again guys for ya'll's help and keep it coming!
THanks
Andy
