Rear struts are stuck

ok so i tried to install my GR2's in the rear. I got the top off fine, but i had to use a fork and mallet to hammer and pry the shock off the sleeve. i also tried to use a gear puller like advised in another "How to" thread, but with no luck. i managed to seperate the sleeve of the shock from the rubber that surrounds it. the problem is that the sleeve of the shock is molded to the stock sleeve that the new shock is supposed to slide onto.

keep in mind that ive already hammered this thing to death. i also tried chiseling it off but with little luck.

anyone have any ideas?

ok, so i used a torch and warmed up the sleeve. I was able to twist it off using a wrench. anyway...H&R sport springs and GR2's are the shit!!!
