Rear end noises after clutch engaged.

Hey all. Well I've been doing a lot of random crap to the car. I finally got it down and it's making some weird noises. I just drove it around the block a couple of times. After changing into gear, I let off the clutch. Everything is fine until I'm just cruising for a couple of seconds. Not accelerating or decelerating. I hear a clunk, clunk, clunk. Just 3. While doing it, it feels like the car is dragging/suddenly slowing. While it was up, the front wheels did turn a little bit, while the rear were still, but not much. Also, while it was up, I unhooked the t-case. I tried to keep the joints from being at too drastic of angles, but at one point the car did slide forward, and it may have caused the angles to be more out of whack. Could this have messed up a U-joint or carrier bearing? Also, could the few turns that the front wheels made without the back have caused damaged? Kinda lost here, and don't wanna drive with that going on. Thanks for your help.

Look at the inner cv joints for the clunk. Although, usually they do it under acceleration.

You might look at your brake hardware also. Just a gut feeling nothing more.
I was wondering if you could look at the rear drive shaft joints.

Sometimes you can jack it up on one side and turn the rear driveshaft to see if the transfer case or rear differential is starting to get loose.

If you find an area you are not sure of, take a picture and post it.

That way we can see what you are seeing.

Thanks for the help. I crawled under this weekend and it ended up being the carrier bearing brackets. the front driver side bracket bolt was loose, and there was no bushing on the body side. And the rear carrier bearing passenger side bracket bolt was loose. so, I fixed that and drove it again. It didn't make THAT noise again. but now it seems to be making noise from the front passenger side. I can't seem to pin down a particular time that it does it. Just kind of at random. I'd think if it was the tranny, it'd do it while i was changing gears. but, it's just kinda random. I don't think it's a brake problem 'cause that wheel never came off, but I'm changing ALL the brake stuff this weekend, so I'll find out, but what other possibilities could there be. the CVs seem to be fine. there's about a 1/2" to 3/4" of rotational play between the transfer case and rear driveshafts(transaxle) is this a normal spec.
