My question is how do I remove the bushings?
I have searched the forums and googled a few things.
How do I replace my rear upper control arm bushings for both sides? - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com
How To Remove Control Arm Bushings - YouTube
Ok so I have been looking into changing my control arm bushings because my car makes a lot of squeaking, creaking, clunking, and weird noises when I hit a bump, turn a corner, slow down and break... ETC...
I changed my rear struts thinking it may have been the problem.
Made a thread on what the noise could be and took a video and finally convinced my self it was the rear control arm bushings after like 6 months. WTF
I bought some Energy Suspension/Control Arm Bushing - Rear (5.3119G) | 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 Cylinders Y 2.0L MFI DOHC | AutoZone.com rear Energy Suspension bushings from Autozone for 86$.
Here is what I have. Let me know if I am missing something. Also I know I don't have a Dremel.
I have a few chisels, hammer, a press, a torch/tank, a electric saw, WD40, Grease, Bushings, 2 jacks to hold the car + my 2 ton jack.
Let me know if this is the correct way to remove the bushings.
Ok remove the control arm bolts and etc...
Take the arm off, then get the torch and set the bushings on fire. Wait for them to cool off. Get like a screw driver or something to finish getting the rubber off. Afterwards get the electric saw and cut the METAL SLEEVE in the Arm careful!!!! Afterwards get a chisel and hit it from the side/top til it bends. Now get a hammer and pop the sleeve out!?
Afterwards let it cool down more before putting the bushing on so it doesn't melt or anything. Next grease the metal and the bushing. Put the bushing in somewhat with a little force. Next move to the Press and have the press shove it in and make sure it is flush with the control arm.
Repeat steps for all bushings. Then move on to other control arm?
I have been reading up and looking through guides from tuners, to other DSM sites, and youtube on other vehicles!
Also I know I should get the car aligned since it will be off a tad bit, don't worry I just had an alignment, so I have a warranty!

I plan on doing this project Friday-Sunday one of those days so please let me know any information ASAP! So I can read up more!
