Driver rear leaks, around the gas tank area. I have no idea how the lines are routed, the lack of visible and workable area has really brought my motivation down.

Now I'm reading I have to drop the gas tank... and to do that, the subframe. I have to do all my work in the street... I'm really losing hope for this.

It's a car I plan on keeping for another year or two.

I need advice and guidance. I've done plenty of line jobs before, but this just takes the cake.

Get creative,
either cut and replace were you need to patch up, or re-route and create a new line.
O'rileys carry's straight brake line, you can shape to your needs, or SS lines. Good luck.

Will re routing cause any issues as dont they have to be tucked away for safty, and I might be wrong but tuey the same length both sides? I want to re do my lines aswell but not in the stock location and rather around the tank or along the floor

Length is unimportant, it will not affect balance in any way.

Protection is most important as you have already imagined. Try to mimic OEM routing as much as possible/practical.

So I've decided to replace the both rear lines till about half way down the middle.

I see 5 lines, 3 fuel and 2 brake. I cut both brake lines and flared them so they are ready to accept the new line. However, I didn't get to see which line is right side and which line is the left side.

[fuel][fuel][fuel][brake ??][brake ??]

In that order, who can tell me left and right side. Thank you.

The far passenger side is actually for the drivers side and the second one in from the passenger side would then be the passenger side. I just did this on my 2GA.

Here's what will really blow your mind, if you switch them, it won't matter, it will still work the same. The proportioning valve and ABS is divided by front/rear not left right, so even if you mix these two you'll be ok.
