I was just browsing around and stumbled upon these seats.

They look very similar to sparco/corbeau style seats, other than the headrest section.

I'm just basically looking for similar seats wrapped in either leather or synthetic vinyl (like our cars stock).

Anyway, anyone have any experience with these seats? I believe they are made by a company named Yonaka Motorsports and these would be the Ronin line.

Not sure bout you guys but they look great to me and I def won't mind bein the test guinea pig. :thumb:

You can get some used corbueas or Sparcos for $500. I wouldn't waste $500 on those, but thats just me.

I like them. If I was upgrading the seats in my car, I'd want something like that. Something thats btter than stock, but is still classy looking. The other ones just look a bit too flashy for me.

You can get one used sparco, or a pair of cheap used non reclinable corbeaus that won't look nearly as nice for the same price.

Just some advice:
You get what you pay for.

I bought a set of Tenzo R Rally seats. They are nice, but the quality was a little disappointing. If I had it to do over I'd probably save a little while longer and get a nicer quality set of seats. This is just my take on buying seats. Those in the picture look nice.

All I'm saying is buyer beware. I love my seats, but I would probably do it differently if I had it to do over.

The other thing is I guess: If the quality isn't that great and they fall apart you could get them recovered by someone that knows what they're doing for the same price of a set of Sparcos.

Anyway, I just thought I'd drop off my two pennies.

They are obvioulsy directed towards the people who appreciate what little class they can get out of their DSM.

I was going to buy two corbeaus off of a guy for $500, reclinable by the way. But my dad wouldn't let me spend that much on a pair of seats. And I'm glad he didn't. I ended up getting a pocket logger, and a couple other things. So yes, you can get a pair of nice seats for under $1000. The deals are out there, you just have to look.

Blizz92tsi: I was thinking the same, if the quality leather they use is unacceptable or poor quality, I could always get the seats reupholstered.

The place that sells those seats (Street Imports) is somewhat local. One of the guys in the local club bought a pair of the Ronin seats in the synthetic leather material. Im not sure if its true anymore, but in the summer when the company went to a number of the local car shows, they were selling the seats for an incredible price.

They looked to be very nice. I sat in them and they were quite comfortable. Im looking to pick up a pair of the Ronin seats in leather eventally, they look just like Recaro SRDs and dont have any logos on them like a lot of the other knock off seats do.

Those look pretty nice. There is also another ebay seller that sells nice leather racing seats like that. http://www.sellvolution.com/seats.html these look really nice. I'm thinking about picking up a pair of their black widow series. :thumb:

I was also looking at these seats but I don't like the way they put the logo on the seats. They also look too much like stock, the side bolster on the sitting part doesn't look like it'll hold you in well enough, which I'm looking for, but they do look like some nice seats.

We have a fairly lucrative Ebay business. I would be very leary of someone who doesn't accept paypal, just my $.02. The seats look nice tho.

Racing seats don't recline.

Tru, but when you are driving your car every day especially with a back as bad as mine you can accept the not-really race seat as a racing seat :)

I appreciate the heads up. Was thinking the same thing til I took a peak at their feedback, which is 1721 at 98% posotive so I think it's safe to give it a shot. I'll be paying by credit card so if their is a problem, my bank can take care of it.

Good looks though.

Neat, this in no way contributes posotively to this thread.

I thought you were asking our opinion on it.

air dynamic racing seats

I was looking at those before I bought my Tenzo Rs.... they used to be $99/seat for cloth and $150/seat fake leather. Havn't got a chance to try out the tenzo Rs but I'll have my car back within days!

Flash,
I wouldn't necessarily put them in "I learned the hard way" group. The ones I got are nice and only have a few complaints. If they hold up like they have been I probably will re-sell them. I have seen a similar pair that were red and they faded really bad. Mine are black and so are my windows so hopefully that won't be a problem. When I do sell them I plan on getting one really nice racing seat for the driver side, and getting a stock seat recovered to match my already recovered back seat. I think having one "racing" (read reclinable sp?) seat looks more sporty. Its there for one purpose for the driver to do some fast driving. The other thing is everyone that's new to my seats always have something to say when they sit down or try to get out. Yes they are kinda hard to get in and out of, but they are very supportive for fast driving. Anyway, I don't think the Tenzo's are that bad I just came up with a better idea after owning them. If someone decides to get Tenzo's I'd probably only get them in black or possibly have them fade.
