Both have a 2" outlet- one has a 2.4" inlet and the actuator mounting provision on the front, the other has a 3" inlet and no actuator provision.

There are literally hundreds of different housing combinations....none of which bolt directly to a DSM manifold from the factory as the 20G was never intended to be a factory upgrade for our cars. One like that must be built.

ok cool i understand now LOL. also i wanted to know what turbo is better then a Mitsubishi 20g? and i am doing a build for 400-500hp that's the goal?

Sounds like you just want numbers. You looking for any specific 1/4 mile performance? With that information we could point you in the right direction. Otherwise, there are plenty of turbos better than a 20G but it will get you the 400-499 horsepower you're looking for.

its going to be used in the 1/4 a few times but just building it for street? right now i am rebuilding my block and am shooting for a goal of 400-500hp? i am looking for a good turbo but not to expensive? not sure what i am going to run in my block yet so if you could help on that maybe?

The 20G should not be a go-to turbo for 400+hp. It may be able to do it, but it's going to be out of it's efficiency range which shortens it's life drastically as well as making tuning on pump gas much more difficult.

what turbo is this thanks?

so what so i have to so to make it efficient? i am rebuilding my engine so if i got to do something in the block i will? and i just don't want to go to the 20g to make the hp? i just want it better turbo for my car after i get it done. if you can help me on the build that would help i am having some trouble.

Hey Justin. I know you said there are many different Housing combinations but how big of a difference in those two 20gs in flow and lag with a bolt on hot side? I'm thinking the 2.4 has a fast spool but the 3" flows better on top but by how much?

You'll never notice a seat-of-the-pants difference in compressor cover selection....especially between the two covers I've illustrated above. The 3" cover is just more popular for hybrids because there is more machinable surface without weakening the inlet.
