Hello boys and girls. I need some help, I am in Atlanta for the weekend at an event at Road Atlanta. Unfortunately my 92 has had some teething issues. Long story short it was a rescue car that I bought from a guy 6 years ago and have been in the slow process of rebuilding and getting to the road courses since. Last weekend I got her running and headed down to Georgia for one of the last events of the year. The trouble is I am having issues with it running under boost.
The problem is this after any given stop (gas, break what ever) the car runs great. Full power full boost (10psi) for about 10-20 min depending. For example I got 3 good laps in my first session but only one the second. At which point point she starts to buck. Feels like fuel cut, but after which it just wont build boost and buck as soon as the pressure starts to rise.
Let it sit for a few min and then its good to go again.
I believe that the problem may be related to the 18 year old UV prom that was inserted into the car back in 1994, however it could also be related to a possible fuel injector failure once they come up to temp. not sure. I am looking for some help. I am down here for one more day, if anyone has a ECU I can borrow to swap out and try or a set of working injectors I would appreciate it.
It’s a 92 GSX, FP green turbo, external waistgate with a 5 lb spring, cutom 3 inch exhaust. Factory Mas air, IC and plumbing. Custom prom from 1994, new O2, plugs and the IC pipes are tight.

Im in sc but i have a 90 awd 5spd talon you could try the ecu. I could probably help with your issue too. Im about 2-3 hours from ATL.

Thanks, i think that would put me out of all my Sunday sessions however. I can limp the car home
But i am looking to salvage my Sunday so this isnt a total loss.

Failed to mention she also has new plugs, wires, and fuel filter reading though the studder thread i may also need to my replace my coil packs. Probably start there in the morning

Also i had replaced the fuel pump this weekend as well. Nothing special just a stock replacement

Coils are possible. Then tend to act up under load when they're bad when they get hot.

Yes. Found that in the stutter thread. Replaced both this morning got about four laps in before it broke up again. Going to check injector resistance. Than perhaps swap o2s

So basically you run it hard for 15 mins then it loses power? It didnt do this driving down?

For the most part yes it did this for the whole trip down. I didn't understand the severity of the fail however as i was doing my best to keep the boost down during the break in. So really no WOT pulls until i got to the track.
Logger shows no knock and low O2
The O2 sensor was new with the build and to be sure we swaped it out with a new o2 this morning

Day is over gonna limp her home and update this once i sort it out
