Ok I have a small problem, I was reinstalling my TB a few days ago after a rebuild and I stripped the threads in the intake manifold where one of the bolts goes. I want to re-tap the hole because i’m leaking boost. Anyone know the size tap I should use to re-tap the hole?

lube the end of your bolt, mix up some jb weld.
stick some jbweld in the hole put the screw in not tight!!!

Let it sit for 24 hours back the bolt out. Clean it off, and retorque it. The jbweld in there should be good for about 100lb/ft of torque. You don't need to torque it that much...

20lbs should be good, but I'm not exactly sure.

This is like sticking a bandaid on a gun shot wound, come on. Try to re-tap the holes, and if you cant heli-coil it. JBwelding the bolt in there is the dumbest idea i have heard. What if you need to take the TB off again?

then you thread the bolt out.

Take the bolt to a hardware/auto store. I cannot remember thread size off hand, they have little sizers at the stores.

Then depending on how bad the hole is (will the bolt screw in, or does it just go in and pull out).
If its not bad, buy a tap of that thread size and run it through.

If its bad, try JB Thread maker (its an epoxy like JB Weld).

If its bad and you want it done right...buy a helicoil kit for the thread size you need. Basically you drill the old hole bigger and run a new set of threads inside it.
