I'm in the final stages of restoring my '92 Talon TSi AWD manual after it sat for around 6 years and have a few remaining questions.

1 - I'm replacing the cruddy old shift cable end bushings with these, do I need to reuse the old washers or something. Other versions come with e-rings but these do not:

2 - When I replaced the oil & filter a few hundred miles ago I put in cheap synth Walmart 10W-30, a few ounces of Seafoam and Mystery Oil, and a new Mitsu filter, with the intention of dumping the oil & additives after a few hundred miles to flush out the old oil and gunk. I just dumped this oil and removed the oil pan and gave it a thorough cleaning & derusted and painted the exterior. After I apply new RTV and reinstall the pan, should I put in another batch of cheap synth oil and some additive and run the car for a few hundred more miles, then dump it again and only then put in high quality oil (in my case Mobil 1 Extended)? If so, can I reuse the Mitsu filter (after dumping the old oil in it), or should I put in a new filter, and if so is any cheap one OK since it'll only be a few hundred miles?

3 - Tim said to put green Loctite 290 threadlock on the 3 trans poppet bolts. Why green and not blue, and is green Permatex 29000 ok to use instead?

4 - I'm replacing the short clutch line and hose that connect to the SC, as well as the 8 brake hoses, with SS braided line from JNZ. When bleeding, is it ok to use brake fluid from a bottle that was first opened back in mid-December with only a few ounces used and then tightly sealed and stored outside since then, or should I use all-new fluid?

5 - There's still a bit of play in the select lever on the trans. I replaced the 2 bronze bushings and shoe but it still wobbles a bit. Is this ok or is there a way to remove the slop, say by replacing the washer closest to the bushing, which perhaps wore down?

I'd think you should be fine after you dump the first time on 2. Never hurts to be safe but that first time usually gets alot of it out.
Idk if brake fluid every really expires as long as it's sealed up so you should be good with that.
The shifter itself has a plastic sleeve like bushing that wears out so it'll have side to side play. I actually rolled up a soda can for for temporary use
