ram air on 1g turbo

I found a ram air intake on ebay for a fairly cheap price. It's about half the price of the one I bought for my charger. It says its for a 2g though. I was wondering if it will fit under the hood of a 1g laser? The engines are set up the same aren't they? Any help would be appreciated. The link to the intake is

The engines are set up the same, but the MAF is not. That pipe would connect at the turbo, but not at your MAF. Check out Dejon Powerhouse (vendor section) for a whole slew of 1g pipes for any combination you need.

I modded my air can. Basically the sides are cut out so it just holds the filter and maf. Would I be able to just connect the aluminum pipe with the supplied rubber fittings?

On second thought, it might work, as long as the coupler sizes are the same. I don't know the diameter of the 1g MAF outlet. If it's larger or smaller than the intake pipe, you'll need a reducer coupler.

The 1g maf opening is round. The 2g maf opening is oval. It won't work. You'd have to convert to the 2g maf to use that ebay piece. You can go to the Dejon site like MrBoxx mentioned and find an intake pipe for your car. You can get one designed to work with your current maf.


Look under the 1g section, choose intake pipes.

You are bet off getting an intake pipe that is designed for the 1g, i found out the hard way by getting a 2g intake pipe and thinking it would still work with my 1st gen and later found out its not even close to the same. i would highly recommend the correct intake pipe not one for a diff car

i have an injen 2g pipe on mine it works fine.
