I recently got a Optima battery and when it was installed my factory radio lost the code and now i have to enter a code to listen to the radio. Is there any way you can get a radio code without going to the dealer? Please Help I Miss My Radio

No. You'll need the radio's serial number and your VIN number. A good dealer will give you the information for free.

You gotta pull the radio out..it's on top. Just copy down all the numbers..one of them is it!

That's it, just the serial number on the top of the actuall radio itself and your vin number, then I will see what I can do.

Well you will have to let me know in a pm and I will see if I can get it on Saturday. Or as stated above if you get those numbers you can go to a dealership and they will be able to help your out, but I don't know if they charge for it. Just let me know what transpires and I will help out the best I can.

1)Get the Serial number
2)Get the yellow pages and find a local Mitsubishi dealership...any dealership will do
3)Tell em you change the battery and you need the stereo code...they will ask you for serial number and give it to em.... (IT'S FREE) no charge.
4)Punch the code and your set to go.

For the future, you might want to write the number down and put it on your manual or somewhere that you will remember just in case this happens again.

I don't know about it being free our local Mitsubishi guys here say that most dealerships will make you bring the car to the shop and have the service department put it in for a fee of around $40.00 but if you can find a cool dealership I would say go for it.

Hey sorry to revive this thread up again but I think my case is quite similar. Well, I went away for the holidays so I had my friend take care of my car. Cut the long story short, my batt died and so radio wanted code. He punched it a few times and got my radio locked. I've the serial and the code for my radio but how do I get it to "ask" for the code again? Thanks guys

"ACC on with the radio on for about 45 minutes clears it."

Close but its 60 minutes :) , just make sure the radios display is saying off
