I have searched and found that the NPT size for the temp sensor is 1/8th NPT however my problem is this:

I have been wanting to get this Autometer Water temp gauge
ATM-5732 - Auto Meter Phantom Series Gauges: Engine Temperature Gauges (Mechanical) - egauges.com
but it says that the NPT size for the sensor is 1/2" and every adapter i find says 1/8"

Is this a typo on the Autometer gauge site? Or will this adapter not fit the temp sensor in this adaptor?

I am at a loss with this as I cannot find any adapters that are 1/2NPT anywhere...

IMO, save your money, save your hoses, and simply drill into the thermostat housing somewhere.
I just drilled and tapped a hole, put the sensor in there and called it a day. Oh, and a bit of teflon tape to protect from any leaks.
Looks neat, "stock"ish, and saves that money for something more useful.
