Radiator fans: which fan is which?

I've read through all the radiator fan posts I could find and just need a quick answer cause for some reason it's puzzling me, .

This is for an automatic 99 GS.

Is the slimmer fan the ac condenser fan and the thicker fan the engine one?

Or better yet, which one is on the passenger side and which the driver side?

Driver side is the AC fan.. Passenger side main fan.

Are they both plastic or is one metal the metal one goes closer to the headers

Both are the stock plastic fans. I wish I had a chance to take pictures. The driver's side is the thicker fan, and the passenger side is the slimmer one. Here's one thing that I noticed, the thicker/driver side fan only has 2 pins in the power connector and 2 wires going to the fan motor, and the slimmer/passenger fan has 4 pins and three wires going to the fan motor.

In my 99 GS relay box, there's only Radiator LO - no high. Whereas the AC has HI and LO.

Wouldn't that mean that the slimmer/passenger side fan is the ac condenser fan? Does the condenser fan usually sit in front of the ac unit?

pretty sure passenger side fan is ac and driver side is radiator fan.

On my 1999 gs it has AC fan 4 wire connector on the passenger side and radiator is 2 wire connector on driver side.

That may be correct for a 4g63, but the OP has the 420a.
Passenger side is the AC fan, I just removed it since I installed headers and the o2 hits the fan, looks cleaner, still doesn't get hot with ac running!

Yes on a 420a the driver side fan is the main and passengers side is for the ac.
