Radiator fan keeps blowing

The fuse on the positive battery post for the radiator fan keeps blowing. This randomly just came up and I cant find any obvious problems. About 3 seconds after the fan kicks on, the fuse visibly gets red hot and blows. I have a stock fan. I was wondering what that fuse is wired in with? It appears to have one wire go to the relay, and then the relay wires to the fan? Its starting to get warm out and I need to get this fixed soon.

-check to see if your fan wires leading up to the motor got to hot from the exhaust and melted the insulation off of them and blowing your fuse.
-does the fan free spin by hand? is there anything blocking the fan causing it to try to work harder than it should and blow the fuse
-i know this just came up but do you have the proper fuse installed?

Well actually when I noticed it stopped going on, I looked around for some obvious problems. My MBC is zip tied to my fan, and I noticed the zip tie got worn out and got loose, causing the MBC to fall in between the fan blades, which would have caused the fan motor to try harder to spin since there was a MBC in the way of the fan blades, which I imagine caused the fuse to blow to protect the fan?

Could that strain on the fan motor caused it to have extra resistance or something that would continuously make the fuse blow?

that extra strain is the motor pulling more amps than normal due to high load.
i knew this was a good chance was your problem because how you described the fuse blowing slowly. and since fuses blow in the blink of an eye when they short this seamed more appropriate.

Cool thanks a lot man. So even when all that load is taken off the fan motor, it continues to pull more amps causing the fuse to blow? And the fix would be to replace the fan motor? (my friend has a FAL fan hes gonna sell me cheap Ill probably just go ahead and use that)

not exactly once you remove the vacuum line it should fix your problem and stop blowing your fuse. does the fan spin freely by hand?

when a fuse gets hot like that then pops it means its grounding out so you have a positive wire touching a ground so go thru your wires and check them, let me know what you find

Well I instantly moved the MBC outta the way and zip tied it up again with a thicker zip tie so it shouldnt happen again. When the fan kicks on, the fan will run for about 3 seconds, and in the 3 seconds the fuse gets red hot and blows.

does the fan free spin by hand? if the car is off and the fan is off can you push it with your hand and it spins a few rotations?

if it doesn't then its bad and you need a new fan.

Yes the fan spins freely.

check the fuse block by the battery and see if it is corroted. you will have to take it off and inspect in and if it looks good then trace the wires down.
