I'm looking to use my car as a guinea pig for testing the "retarded exhaust cam" theory.
I plan on doing this tomorrow, but i just wanted to make sure i have everything in order here.
1. remove the top timing cover piece so that i can see the cam gears
2. mark the timing belt for reference
3. remove the little access panel on the lower t-cover
4. use the tool to release some tension on the belt
5. turn the exhaust cam 1 tooth counter-clockwise
6. remove the tensioner tool, and that should re-apply tension.
Am i right? If i am, it shouldn't be too hard. If i am missing a big step, then it might have to wait til the weather is a bit nicer.
Thanks
