Hey guys I had a quick question as I'm in the process of setting the timing in my car. I have everything set up right, and now I just need to know where I should set my timing at, (I believe it should be at 5 degrees?) and where I should look at the marks from. My dad and I were looking at it, and it makes a pretty big difference if you look at the marks from under the car with the front driver's wheel off versus from the engine bay. I would guess most people do it from the engine bay, but from under the car it looks to be more accurate as you can see exactly where the marks line up. Thanks.

I know I will probably get flamed for this answer but here goes.

When I was trying to set the timing on my car I got ahold of the person who built my motor and he told me to quit wasting my time with the timing light and set the timing based on the car. Basically get it close with the light and then go out and drive the car and make a few logs and then start adjusting the timing for your knock.

I just need to know if I adjust it from the top of the car, or underneath where you can see the marks better. I'm not planning on changing the base timing from 5 btdc.
