Ok Peeps, I have a question :)

I have a 90 GSX and i want better stopping power,
now i already have the dual piston calipers and brackets, which rotorts do i order?
The ones that are for ABS or Non ABS? I just need to make sure

Thanks

Well, that would entirely depend on your car? Does your car have ABS or not?

No the car has no ABS, so I'm guessing non ABS rotors?

Thanks

Any number of the DSM-specific vendors should be able to help you out. Check out the commercial advertisements forum. All prices are *generally* in the same range. I don't know how you get ahold of him, but I've heard good things about Todd at TCE's brakes.

check ebay, or the trader i always see good deals, and being a fellow gvr4 owner you know i need it....

Yes indeed, i truly understand,
glad to hear from another fellow GVR-4 owner :thumb:

Thanks

ABS rotors have to have little holes near the hubs to clear the sensor ring mounting bolts, non ABS rotors don't. I had to drill these holes in my Baer rotors so they'd fit, since my car originally had abs. If you want better stopping power, pads are going to benefit you more than rotors.

Honestly i went thru this nightmare before,
I ordered some TPM rotors from SBR and Mike told me that i will need the ABS rotors,
i was confused but i trusted him, when i tried to install them they would go on but will not seat properly, had a nasty shimmy, so i went back to stock,
until some one told me that i needed the non ABS rotor.

Thanks

this is a true statement, however, if you have stock diameter roters really great pads will 'cook' the rotors if you are hard on brakes. i have to do a brake upgrade because my ebc pads take more heat than the 10" rotors can take. going w/aem upgrade myself.

Jim,

thats exactly what happened to me, i had the Axxis and it warped my cross drilled stockers in 5 months,
Also i run the AEM brake kit on my Galant and i HATE it, trust me i would steer clear from the AEMs, i would go with the TCE kit

That has nothing to do with the diameter of the rotor. That has to do with the quality of the rotor material. My stock brakes on my Mazda warped on me, just from daily driving warped. I ended up finding Brembo's for $100 for the fronts and just put those on, along with new pads. The larger diameter will actually hurt (greater inertia) you unless you have a pad that can grab the extra material, or a caliper that is offset further. Powerslot's and Brembo's both generally do well with the extra heat.

Scott,

Have you heard any opinions on the TPM rotors?
Well i guess i cna always go to the Brembos instead.

No I haven't, but I haven't bothered looking for reviews since I've been happy with my baers. I've seen a ton of people say that they like their powerslot's. Try looking for reviews where they've had the parts for over a year or 2. There's always a ton of reviews of where they replaced a worn out part and noticed an improvement.

Try pm'ing ETTsi, he bought TPM's at the end of last year http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93681&highlight=tpm+rotors

Thanks Scott,

I will PM him.
Appreciate all your help everyone
