Hey i have a 98 GS eclipse, 420a motor, i bought a 14B turbo for it on craigslist and i was curious about what all id need to run 8, maybe 10 lbs of boost? Correct me if im wrong but all ill need is a Intercooler, wastegate, and an exhaust manifold? Relatively new to turbos. Thanks guys.

First off, to turbo a non turbo engine, like yours, takes a lot of work, money and research.
Second, bolting a 14b on to your car going to cost more and net you less than its really worth.
You'd be better off going with something t3 based as there are more parts available for that turbo frame and engine combo.

Youll need a manifold, turbo, downpipe, intercooler/piping, intake setup, fuel system (preferable to swap to a return style), injectors, FPR/FMU, possibly a fuel pump, and some way to tune it all. Plus any maintenance items you haven't already done. All that and some other stuff I probably missed, to run only about 6-8psi safely on stock internals.

By that time and dollar amount, you could have sold the GS, found a gst/gsx, done basic maintenance, bought a 16g (or use your 14b), intercooler kit, boost controller, injectors and an SAFC/MAF-T and been way ahead.

Not saying you can't boost a 420a, just better ways to go about things imo. Just my 2 cents, maybe @dsmcrzy can chime in with some helpful advice.

Here's a decent article on this site about turboing an otherwise stock 420a.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/how-to-build-a-420a-stage-2-turbo-kit-for-under-1000.181134/

This method of using an fmu raises the fuel pressure 12:1 (12psi of fuel pressure per 1 psi of boost). So inreality all it does is force more fuel into the combustion chamber to get safe AFRs. Not exactly a safe way to go but tons of people have turboed 420As this way.

When I turboed mine I got a megasquirt which is basically a tunable ecu that can either run the fuel, spark or everything. This way you have the ability to tune everything and not just taking a swag that raising the fuel pressure to insane amounts will keep your afrs in check.
