Hello I have a question about an upper intercooler pipe. Well first of all my stock intercooler pipe keeps popping off of my intercooler. There is a little rubber piece on the end or the pipe that attaches to the intercooler that keeps breaking apart and causing the seperation. My question is, im planning on getting an upper intercooler pipe like Dave Brode, or other brand, will one of these eliminate the rubber piece thats on the stock uicp? I dont want to have to use that same piece cause its hard to find it. Thanks

it will replace the entire rubber hose and tb elbow with hard pipe, usually 2.5 inch. it will have a coupler for the tb elbow and for the intercooler.

What piece exactly are you talking about? If you mean that rubber ring that goes over the ic outlet and you attach the hard plactic pipe overtop of it. Yes that will be replaced.

I think he is talking about the stock rubber coupler  ? If thats the case some t-bolt clamps should do the trick

Hmmm, but there is no "real" rubber coupler connecting to the ic outlet on the 2g's. The part where the ic connects to the upper pipe is hard plastic, then there is a strange rubber, reducer I guess you would call it that fits over the ic oulet and inside the plastic hard pipe. The way its designed I don't think you can get a tbolt clamp to work because of their extra width. Most upper ic pipes replace the hard plastic part and the rubber hose that connects to the throttlebody elbow. Now some of the cheeper ones will just replace the hard plastic pipe and connect the the factory rubber hose right after the bov. Then there are some better ones that replace everything from the ic outlet right to the throttle body (ie get rid of the restrictive factory tb elbow)
