ok i know when u get a tsi most of them come with awd but some come with fwd i was wondering if there was a way to tell without seeing the emblems. for exampe if it has abs then it would be awd. or if it had a certain option it would be awd. or something to that affect. i got a guy im going to buy a talon from but he doesnt know if its awd or just fwd it doesnt have any emblems on it either.

he has a Talon, but doesn't know whether it's AWD or FWD? Does the car drive, or has he ever driven it? Just drive the car, if your spinning tires, its's FWD... if you can barely chirp the tires... it's AWD.

kinda hard to test drive its in another state thats why i was asking about options the car runs but he doesnt "drive" the car like i would its his
grocery car

You can get most any option with either one - AWD's tend to have more of them standard is all. Have him crouch down under rear bumper and look between the rear wheels for a differential with drive shafts coming out of it to the wheels. Nothing there - it's FWD.

or look for a drivline going to the back of the car.

Do 2G's have the little TAG on the driver door jam that says this car is equipped with a LSD, do not lift car and start the engine or rotate a wheel while on a jack?

Cause if the 2G's do, then you could have the guy look for that tag, and take a pic of it for you. Its probably bright orange, and located next to the door striker on the driver door jam.

the guy is full of shit if he doesn't know. i know i could tell the difference between awd and fwd whether i was driving to the grocery store or not.

anyways, have him check the driveshafts to see if they go to the rear of the car, have him get the vin and check it, or for his own sake...

tell him to quit driving like a ####y, dump the clutch, and go WOT. :thumb:

Is it a 1G or 2G. If it is a 1G AWD he would have a hard tiime hauling grogerys in it. There is only about 6 in. of depth in the trunk. Makes it hard to get much home. I hear it from my g/f everytine we take mine to the store.
