So I'm almost done with my 6 bolt build. Here's what I have so far.

6 bolt block
weisco pistons
Brian Crower Rods
Rebuilt 2g head
780 injectors
AEM High Flow Rail
Walboro 255 lph
EVO ported manifold
Tial 38mm WG
MAF Translator
Pocketlogger
ACT 2600

So heres my question.
I originally went with the SCM6152 from Precision. But changed my mind at the last second because I thought that it would be too laggy. My goal for this build is to have a fun street car, that I might take to the track on occasion.

So now I have a SCM5031 on the way. with a .48 A/R. Does anyone have this turbo? I'm wondering if the .48 A/R is going to be too restrictive, and also. If anyone has this turbo how do you like it? Too small? Lots of Power?

Any input would be appreciated, I want to make sure I made the right decision. Once I'm completely done with the build, I will do a engine build post complete with a bunch of pictures.

When you say .48 A/R you mean the housing right? Do you have a link to where you bought it so we can see exactly what you have. The 5031 is a basic 50 trim that has made great numbers. You can get 400whp on pump im sure.

I have the SCM 6152 and love it. 20 psi by 4300 rmps doesn't seem too laggy to me and I'm still on 2.0 litres.

I too am building up a 6-bolt for my 1g fwd. I will be running...

Wiseco pistons (8.3:1) on Eagle rods
BS removed
Brian Crower cams
Stainless valves in bronze guides
Ported Mani (likely Evo may swing tubular)
FMIC with GM MAF
660's with 255 fp and AFPR
Logger still in the air

My goal is 350whp+... I want a fairly quick spool time with great street power and nice track capability. I think the 6152 might be overkill for me but would leave room to grow. But I also think that the 50 trim there might not be enough...

I just took a look at the 6031... It really caught my attention... It is a little more than the 16g set-up i was looking at but I think it will really satisfy me knowing that there is still room to grow. Does anyone know around what rpm it will be spooling nice with the engine build i'm in the progress of finishing is?

I also have the 6152. I personally don't mind the lag, but that is just a matter of opinion. I still haven't gotten it tuned right yet, because some ahole decided to blow out my windows and i have a major leak in my wategate, but as is it runs well.

So the SCM 5031e (50 trim) will not be enough but you are looking at a 16G? LOL...

To the OP, I had a PTE SCM 5031e on my car and I loved it. Pump gas KING! The turbo really shines at 20-22 psi, you have to get up to at least 20. You can make 400 with it and run low 12's high 11's. It was a GREAT turbo, i really liked it. The only reason I got rid of it was because I was getting into higher RPMs and the bolt on housing was starting to become a restriction. I went full T3 SC61 with a .82 hotside. Full spool on the 50 trim was 3800 or so, earlier in higher gears. Spool on the new turbo is around 5K... IMO, I wouldn't go anything bigger then a 50 trim in a bolt on housing.

Well I kicked the 16g set-up out the window a little bit... just trying to be a little different... a little beyond tradition. :D So maybe the 50 trim wouldn't be so bad... The way you describe it is really about perfect for me. A little sweat, a little tuning, and a lot of fun LOL Thanx 2gAWDTalon!
