wuts up guys, i got yet another question for u guys, i just bought a TURBOXS type H BOV. i dont have any installation guides or anything so i'm kinda in a holding point as far as installation is concerned, i tried looking for the guide thru TURBOXS.COM but i had no luck. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT it seems like i am goin to have to seal off the return tube that goes from the BOV to the intake after the MAF. Im not sure about that but that wat it seems like to me. my questions are, if that is the case were i do have to seal off the return dump tube, how do i do it??, what can i use to seal that hole in the intake. also, i beleive i might need an adapter for the BOV, any suggestions? i appreciate all the feedback i hope to get from this thread,.... thankx

well i see noone has responded  , well its been conformed, unfortuanetly this type of BOV has to be releassed to the atmosphere, so what do you guys think, should i stiffen the spring and hope for the best or should i just get another BOV, and if i do take out the return tube?? how do i seal the intake side??

You either need a GM MAF (it will get the amount of air after the intake, so any venting will be ignored) or you need a routable BOV.

It allows you to vent w/o the bad effects of unmetered air. Search for GM MAF for MAF-T on here or go to dejontool.com for a good explanation. Its not cheap tho, so i think your best bet is to run what ya got or buy a reroutable bov.

coo, i appreciate the advice, but i wanna ask 1 more question so i can understand this better. by me running the BOV venting to the atmosphere is kinda similiar to running rich right??? becuz there wont be enough air for the amount of fuel being sent?? now my question to you guys is, if the case is that i wont have that air, do you think it would be possible to tune the fuel by richin/leanin it a lil to componsate for the loss air???? (just a thought) and another thing, i read somewere that it is possible to run a BOV venting to the atmosphere if the BOV is adjusted properly, is this true??? and how rich/ lean would i run at idle if i do run open vented????

P.S sorry for asking pretty much the same questions u guys have to answer day in and day out....i'm just tryin to understand the DSM world of MODDING better......(i like to be enlightend)

What happens when you release the BOV to atmosphere:

The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor is positioned before the turbo inlet. It meters (measures) the amount of air the turbo is sucking in so that the computer can calculate how much fuel to inject.

When you recirculate the air, it goes back into the intake after the MAF but before the turbo, so that the MAF doesn't meter extra air.

When you dump that air into the atmosphere, the MAF doesn't know that air is gone. The ECU gets the data that X amount of air was injested so thinks that Y amount of fuel is needed, when really it should have dumped less since that air was evacuated from the system and never made it to the engine.
