ok i'm not a newbie here, actually used to come here alot when i still had my GS but that car as long since gone and i have now moved on... but i came across talon tsi 5speed, and i was wondering if there anything i should look for wrong with the car, i mean i know the normal stuff but anything special since its 4wd and turbo'd... i've drivin a few of these cars but never owned one, well thank you very much

Check to make sure it had the transfer case recall done to it. Test drive it and check the clutch and tranny. Make sure that there is no leaks. Check the tires to see if the alignment is right.

I say drive the car before you buy it. Check how everything works out. For instance, does the clutch have problems? Does the tranny grind when you try to shift gears? Can it pass smog? How is the fuel mileage? Do all the lights work? Do all the gauges work right?
Does anything look like it was done has @ssed? Spend some time with the car and try to find something wrong.

check the compression, the timing, alt, trans, transfer case, clutch play, try to see if anything is leaking, any noise from the motor besides a lifter tap, and regular stuff like tires breaks and that stuff.

wot year is it? my friend bought a 95tsi awd from other side of the state.. everything seemed great... about 5 miles on his way home, his crank bearings basically said 'good bye' due to crank walk :/

Check the timing belt for oil definitely, if there's oil on it, it's no good and that can be expensive and will let you know you may have oil leaks under the tb cover. Also like a couple of the guys are saying, COMPRESSION TEST. Maybe even do a boost leak test to see if any of your seals are bad thoughout the engine. I had one done and found a blow-off valve seal leak, bad pcv, throttle body seals, and crank seal.
