Guys..I just picked up one of those Alpine CVA-1003 In-Dash Monitors. It says that it has a "CD changer control", and I was just wondering if the stock cd changer in my GSX would be compatible with it and enough to play cd's, or if I'd need a seperate head unit as well (I'm filling the bottom DIN with either an EQ or a DVD changer). I have an Xbox that I'll be using for DVD playback..I'm just trying to get the CD's to work with the media center without having to spend more money than I have to. Thanks.

stock cd changer is a pos...when i bought my car..the lady claimed it worked the day before....but i dunnno it just wouldnt read and cd's new and burned cd's....so she sent me a check in the mail to get a head unit for the car...if i were u id take the cd changer out n just stick with a head unit...id rather change cd's right in front of me than to go in the back of the car n pop 6 in...its up to u tho...im just sayin the cd changer is a pos n im sure it will crap out sooner or later

its been almost a year since i did it ...but as i can remember....the cd changer has a fabic of some sort over top of it and all around it...but u flip up ur spair tire board thing...and thers a bolt underneat that holding the changer in place....and theres another bolt above that board but its under the fabic somewhere then it should just pop right out....theres also a plug underneath the board thing where the spare tire is i guess its power supply and other wires n what not..uplug that n ur goot to go...that craps a waste of space anyway...good luck...
