Now that these cars are 20+ years old, I was just wondering if new old stock motor mounts would still be the best way to go, or if it is better to buy aftermarket? I've read that rubber hardens as it ages, so I was wondering if that would impact the performance and lifespan of new old stock mounts?

What brand of aftermarket mounts are people using that they would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to buy stock style mounts of comfort was my main concern, but NOS mounts that have been sitting for 20+ years don't inspire confidence with me.
I personally have prothane mounts in my talon, and will get them for my laser when I start major engine work on it. I'll just drill them with a few well placed holes to cut down on the stiffness factor and see how they feel, can always take more material out.

So I wouldn't buy NOS mounts myself for a DSM, but for a basic, every-day car, sure why not if they're cost effective.

Window weld motor mounts are definitely a diy option, I've done it on a couple cars, its just a bit messy and not as clean. But it does work very well on the cheap, they're still stiffer than stock, though I imagine you could drill them once set up as well to help combat the stiffness.
