Question about intake fittings on a 16G..

Hey im not a newbie nor did i not make an effort to search..I did..just didnt find what i was looking for. However i had a question. My aftermarket intakes outlet i believe is 2 1/4 in inside diameter. The coupler that goes over it is around 2.5" outside diameter. I just recently bought an Evo III 16G turbo and was wondering if the intake i have will fit onto the 16G turbo compressor wheel. I thought I had an Injen intake since i bought it off a friend, but since I dont see a Injen stamp on it Im assuming its probably some ebay intake. I had an Injen Intake on one of my GST's which i no longer own and I dont remember what the outlet size of the intake was. I was wondering If i could just get like a 2.75" coupler and make the intake work with the 16G. I cant think of any downsides to doing this. Any help will be appreciated.

Right thanks, i read that but didnt really understand them. I know it lists that if u have a 20G or whatever than buy a 3" outlet intake. But my question is, will a 16G work with an intake whos diamter is about 2 1/4. It doesnt really mention wether it can be done or not, but instead talks more about the bigger turbos than 16G that need bigger inlets.

It'll work. My 16G has a 2 1/4" inlet diameter; I remember having to buy a 3"-2 1/4" reducer to attach to my 3" intake.

Had my 3" exhaust done at a custom shop for $240, fitted with a magnaflow muffler. Sounds good and well worth it.
