I installed DSMLink on my laptop and opened it...all it is a black screen with no graphs. Do I just plug in my car and start it...will I see some activity on the black screen or do I actually have to start driving around?

My goals are to set the right fuel trim, get rid of any knock, and adjust the A/F.

You have to plug it into your car, turn the key to ON, and then go to ECU (at the top of the DSMlink window) and then click Online. Then you can start logging by clicking Capture, which is in the bottom right corner.

For how to start tuning, look on the DSMlink forums for a sticky called Getting started.

Here, I guess I need to prove it or something...Here's a pic of my "hand" holding the dsmlink CD.

I did. yes They did the socket service for like 40 i think. Then they converted it to US spec (ecu came with my jdm swap) for 12 i think. Then they fixed the leaky caps for like 30. I used the dsmlink on my motor for a while and I thought the launch sounded really cool. :)

I have launch too set @ 4500. It's pretty cool when you pull up next to someone who wants to race and they start revving there engine, and then I just hold the gas down and that launch kicks in and they don't want to race anymore. It's pretty funny actually.

haha. I love the sound of the launch. Mine is also set at 4500. At first I thought my car was having problems, because I didnt know that my brother set the launch on my car. I was getting so pissed off that I didnt know what my car wouldnt rev higher. But I was happy when I found out I didnt even have a problem.
