Hey Guys,

This is my first post but I've been lurking around the forums reading as much as I can for awhile now. I just picked up a nice 96 Talon TSi AWD recently and it's AWESOME! LOL but the flex section of the down pipe is blown out so it's kinda loud at idle and what not. I figured since it needs to be replaced I might as well replace it with a performance piece. The problem is I can't figure out which one to buy! I was all set on the Megan downpipe until I read about the problems it has with the AWD version. I need the pipe to be a direct bolt on. No cutting/rewelding or anything like that. Just unbolt and reinstall. Who makes a pipe for a 96 AWD that is like this? Price is not a HUGE concern but I would like to not pay a ton for it. However I'm willing to pay as much is needed to only do this ONCE. So please point me in the right directions fellas.

Thanks,
Joe

PS: Anyone heard anything about this pipe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ETS-...ewItemQQcategoryZ33633QQitemZ7989650549QQrdZ1 I know you get what you pay for but I figured what the hell maybe someone has had good luck with it.

You may not get a lot of hits on this post, it's been discussed a lot in all sorts of random threads. I looked thru a few of them and picked out a good one for you, hope this helps! http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178100&highlight=downpipes

Another thing you can try is go to the parts catalog link and go to the exhaust/downpipe section and click on the individual part links. It'll take you to a page where you have the option to see reviews on each of the products. Happy hunting! :thumb:

If you buy off of E-bay make sure you find out if it is a CAT Eliminator Down Pipe. I bought mine from ebay. It was excellent quality but the seller just failed to mention that it eliminates the CAT so I had to remove my CAT to use it and at that point it did not fit to my stock exhaust.

If it is designed to bolt up to your stock CAT you should be fine. Just ask the seller first before buying.

I recently picked up a pasesetter down pipe. unlike the manifolds there is quality in this piece. 3in and ceramic coated, and direct bolt on. wount bolt to stock exhaust, not sure about cat elm.

Thanks for the replys. I've done a search but still am having a hard time finding a pipe that is a direct bolt up. Megan has rave reviews but I also read a few threads about one of the flanges not bolting up. I think I'm going just give it a shot and hope for the best. As far as cats go. Screw um :) I already passed emissions so I'm good for another 2 years at which point I'll swap the stock stuff back on to pass again. Does anyone know if Megan fixed the problem on the AWD downpipes yet?
