Prosport Gauges vs Autometer

So currently I have Autometer C2 gauges. They are messing up so I pulling everything out. They were wired bad by a race shop so its not autometers fault. How do they compare to Prosport gauges? Autometers are so expensive and Prosports are pretty cheap. I about to go out and buy all my gauges from Prosport but I’m having second thoughts. What do you guys think is the best gauge? Do the Prosports auto calibrate? cause I believe the autometers don’t which doesn’t make then as accurate right?

Prosport are better because they are more accurate. there is actually a site somewhere that does all the tests to show the accuracy of different brands of gauges. plus i think they look better anyway.

I have heard nothing but good things about prosport...plus the amber matches factory gauges nicely.

Prosports are ok, there has been a few issues that turn up in a simple google search of their name (boost reading off). But they seem to stand by their product. I picked up 3 of theirs just recently but haven't run them yet. They def. feel cheap, light as a feather. But thats to be expected since they're 35 bux.

Both my autometer boost AND a/f ricer lightshow BOTH somehow broke.
Well, the a/f gauge broke, and the boost gauge started to get inaccurate in vaccum.

I just replaced both of them with prosports. They seem to be fine.

I have the prosport boost, egt, and oil pressure gauges and I've had no problems with them. I had an autometer for a while and boost readings were the same on the prosport.

I don't like Autometer, went through 3 boost gauges in less than a year. they would read 5 to 6 Lbs. off

i have prosport boost (mechanical ) egt and oil pressure (electircal). They have been working great for a year. I have compared the boost gauge to the map sensor on my megasuqirt and it is dead on. These gauges are the best for the money. I only wish the made other types ie non tinited.

I have 5 Prosport gauges and they seem to be just fine, the only flaw I see is that it is ridiculously hard to read them in the day time.

I run Autometer C2 eceltric boost,fuel pressure, and EGT. They read accurate and never had a problem with them. They do auto calibrate on startup but you need to have them wired to a 12V power source that is not interrupted when cranking or they will not calibrate properly.

There are two downsides. One is they are very bright at night so you would need the LED guage dimmer for them. Two is they are not cheap.

Autometer. quality and value. The amount of failures we have seen on pro sport sensors and gauges is STAGGERING.

I just got my Glow shifts a week ago and I cant seem to get the oil pressure to work right. (i hate electricle work) but its pegged 100 psi when the car is off. And my boost gauge light burned out after a week or two in the car. These are tinted gauges so you cant see them unless the light is on. The boost gauge works great and is perfect on pressure. I am going to remove the gauge tomarrow and hope that i can replace the light myself. Glow shift told me to send it to them and another $8 for them to send me a new one. I think that is wrong since that was there product i shouldnt have to pay more for something that shouldnt have burned out that soon. If I cant change the bulb i will go out and get an Autometer gauge and return it when my Glow shift comes back.

I have 5 prosport gauges love'em but as stated you cannot see them during the day!! They are making them now with clear lenses e.i not tinted but only in certain colors not blue which I wanted.

Autometer all the way, they have been around forever. Nascar, top fuel cars, funny cars pretty much all race cars use them these days, so if they went bad on you its more likely the wiring was done wrong (which in this case thats the reason). IMO autometer are the most accuarate gauges for your buck

But the oil psi and boost lights were connected to the same power source and the oil psi is still lighting up.

BTW im not a big fan of the Tinted stuff like i thought i would.

Mine are connected to the same power source also which is the cigarete lighter, and the lighting wires are also connected to the cigarete lighter. Where are yours connected to?

Pwr source from the radio.

car comes on the lights on gauges come on. I will wake up tomarrow and pull it and see if i can replace the light or not.

ive never had problems with my autometers and my friends haven't had any problems with theirs

So why are the Prosport gauges so cheap does anyone know? I also do like the warning light feature but do you think it will be benificial? I mean I always look at my gauges anyways to make sure everything is running right.

I haven't had any issues with my autometer, but since I have to get new ones for the other car, I'm going with Prosport. I just love they way they look and how they go black when off.

^^^ but they are a pain in the butt to read during the day. I just went out and bought the autometer gauges and im going to sell my Glow shift because of the tint.

I have heard when wired properly (white during the day and amber at night) the prosport gauges are actually not that hard to read. Glowshift on the other hand is harder to read during the day, from what i have heard.

I have a prosport mechanical boost gauge. I have had it for less then 7 months and it is already 2 or 3 psi off. Now I have my gauge set for white all the time. In the day I have no problem once so ever reading it. But at night I have to say that it is very bright. Usually it is so bright that I cant see outside of my window right near the gauge at night. I was actually thinking of buying another brand because it is so bright, and already off. But I have no experience with autometer. I have seen them on friends cars, and to me they dont seem very bright? Anybody have personal experience? And want to chime in? But I love the tinted gauge. To me it looks very good.
