Hey people

Propane is to Diesels as Nitrous is to Gas vehicles. It allows/causes More of the Diesel to burn.

Propane for Gas F/I vehicles introduces a higher octane cooler fuel allowing for higher boost on pump gas without detonation. Our car maxes out at 14PSI before knock starts to creep in. With Propane we can run 22psi all day long on 93 octane pump. With no knock.

A $3 2 gallon propane tank fillup lasts me about 2-3 weeks. Cheaper than race gas or mixing a high octane brew and doesn't have the trouble.

Propane is average 110 octane. Comes out at the tank valve @
around -40 degrees. Run it long enuf back to back in teh summer and the tank will start to frost over! That cool fuel!

Thats basically what I said. I guess I was wrong on the octane rating though.

Thanks for making such a cool kit. I will be buying one when I actually start turning up the boost.:thumb:

propane is like water injection, it yields no power gains in itself
what you can do is turn the boost up, run higher timing curves, lower egt's thats where the power comes from.
not from just injecting it

id beg to differ...its cold coming out as vapor which adds a little power by itself, but it also helps even out the combustion in the chamber. remember that gasoline injects in liquid droplets, which doesnt burn as evenly as a gaseous fuel.

then of course on top of that is the higher boost, lower egts, and advanced timing.:thumb:

why doesnt anyone point out the obvious problem of if it gets too hot in ur car in the summer the tank might vent and fill ur car with propane gas. that would suck. one little spark (from God knows where but sh!t happens) and ur car would be gone. Propane seems to have some nice benefits but mebbe it should be taken out of the car when the car is gonna sit in the sun for extended periods of time.

because theres a 1/4 heater hose running from the opv to safely out of the car

We have had our tank in our hatch in the sun in Arizona The entire month of July and August this year. And it was a HOT summer. The Relief valve NEVER opened.
NOT that it won't, there is always the possibility and this is why the install directions state it MUST be vented to the outside.

The Relief valve opens when tank pressure exceeds 312 PSI. At 110F tank pressure is 204PSI. To Exceed the 312PSI relief valve pressure the tank would need to exceed 170F. Never happened in our car sitting in 118F all day long. Not that it couldn't.....But it didn't. If it did, it vents to the atmosphere as would your BBQ tank.

It also does not emtpy the tank out. It relieves just a small amount of propane to bring the pressure down and closes.

Just some info to think about...

Propane on a non-turbo, i want it, so when these honda boys say...i got nawwzz, i'll say STFU i'll BBQ you with my PraaaPayneeee

It is possible to Advance the timing on an N/A to gain power but this ends in detonation, propane would cure that problem the same way it cures it in F/I cars. Higher Octane Fuel.

i saw the show TRUCKS acouple of weeks ago and the were installing a simular kit called bulldog propane kit and nos kit on a chevy diesel. but the valve on the propane kit had to be mounted in the engine bay because they had to connect the water hose to it. somthing about you cant just shoot in the propane into the engine only vapors or somthing like that. just want to know in the kits for our car have the same thing cause i dont see it in the pics posted.

No, our kits are not like that. I don't think others are either that are used for Turbo Gas vehicles. Don't know about the Bully Dog, that's wierd stuff?!
