Problems with 1G.

I have a 92 tsi awd auto. It has about 110000 miles on it. Sometimes it will surge back and fourth will giving it gas, but in neutral it has no problems.

hmm have you checked for vacuum/boost leaks? checked your fuel injectors wire harness'. Might want to check your throttle position sensor, do you have a multimeter?

Check the rubber hose between the mas and the turbo, they develope cracks in the ridges of the pipe that will allow un metered air to enter the intake. If its not that then start checking for boost/vancume leaks.

Could be fowled plugs or wires.
