I have just installed the punishment racing FMIC kit with BOV on my 96' gsx. When i got done installing it i took it for a test drive. It pulled awsome through first gear, i shifted to second and got to about 4-5k rpms and all of a sudden my BOV released all of the air out of no where. It was like hitting a brick wall. this happened a few time. I figured it was just a fuel cut because i dont have my Apexi AVCR installed on my car yet and am running stock injectors. Then it stated stuttering and missing while under open throttle and at idel, it threw a CEL also. I reset my battery and now it doest stutter on the idel but as soon as i put my foot on the gas (not even just WOT) it still stutters/hesitates. not giving me much power at all, unless i have my foot barley on the gas or just rev my engine at an idel. The CEL has not came back and i never got used a code reader. I have checked all of my boost clamps and vacume lines and plan on doing a boost leak test in the morning. does anyone have any other thoughts on what this could be i have tried everything i can wrap my head around.

Here is a list of all of my mods i have (note i did not have any problems what so ever before the fmic install)
K&N air intake
Walbro 255 fuel pump
DNP racing turbo manifold
Evo 3 big 16g turbo
3" Downpipe with magniflow exhaust
external wastgate flange

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

That defiantly sounds like a boost leak, a major boost leak. Do the blt and I am pretty certain you will find your issue. Good luck. Hope this helps.

You also should look onto getting an afpr, with running that wally 255 on a stock fpr and stock injectors your bound to have a problem from that too, sooner than later.

Do a boost leak test because it certainly sounds like one but please tell you forgot to list what you're tuning with (dsmlink, afc or etc). How many lbs are you running btw?

Awsome will do that guys thanks for the help. Right now i dont have a tune on it. I do have ecmlink v3which im putting in my 95 ecu here sortly. I know i really need one. And its stupid to do all this without one but im getting one for it soon, just work alot. I'll get back to all of you tomorrow and let you know if thats the problem.

Check all the couplers for leaks and make sure they are all tight. Depending on how much boost your running fuel-cut may be possible. My car also had similar symptoms and come to find out a couple of my manifold to turbo bolts came loose. Hope it helps.

i pulled the air filter off. the honeycomb u were talking about had 4 bolts holding it in unless it is behind that, so i dont think thats the problem. I will check all of those bold around my manifold to block and to the turbo tho see if that has any leaks.

So upon further investigation. i found out it was an ignition problem. I put new plug and wires in my car. Checked the resistance of my coil pack. came back as zero. so i am pretty sure my coil pack is toast. i did notice quite the increase after changing my wires tho. it just made the problem a little different from before and made my car run bad in a different spot. I can actually build boost now(almost pinning it off the stock boost gauge, but in second gear which i try not to drive it hard past that since its not running right i get a really big jerking feeling like my car just jumps back and forth. could this be because of my coil packs?
