are you still using the stock auto ecu? how are your plugs? i think the auto motors run differnet injectors than the mannys.
 
It sounds like your ignition is cutting out on one or more cylinders. Then again it could be your boost leak. Maybe even losing compression enough to cause the cylinder not to be firing. I would stop driving it tell you know. Doesnt sound like you should be pulling WOT to redline. My 95 did this under several occasions. From a bad HG, bad coil pack, bad PTU, boost leak, old plugs. Could be any or a combination. I suggest starting with a compression check. While you have the plugs out during compression check, do a visual inspection. Most likely replace regardless with brp6es NGK. The old plugs will give you a good idea of what the problem is!
