Calm down big guy... :p All he is saying is that there is A TON of info. on this site about 50-trims, etc. Once you are around for awhile you will see all the questions that could easily have been answered by searching the forums. :thumb: I will help narrow it down for you a bit:

*A 50-trim setup right will OWN an EVO or T-28 for top end power.

*The EVOIII is an awesome daily driver, fast but not whoaaaaa... Fast, turbo.

*Don't waste you $ on a T-28.

I went with a slightly bigger turbo than the 50-trim and I LOVE IT. Perfect for what I wanted it to do. My buddy Jwoody on here has the EVOIII16G and it is an awesome turbo for the $. I do not know anyone that has a T-28 but they don't seem very impressive in a whole from what I have read.

Just search a little and read A LOT, and you will make your own determinations.

Welcome, and good luck.

Scott

:dsm: It might have been HARSH but its the TRUTH. If ppl read the "Newbies Guide to using the DSMtuners Forums " which is the FIRST THREAD YOU SEE YOU WOULD KNOW THAT IT SAYS IN IT:

BEFORE YOU POST A NEW THREAD, be sure another member has not already posted the same exact topic. You should Search the Forums to see if there is already a discussion taking place on the topic you're about to post. Also be sure you've read all of the resources listed in Rules. Nobody wants to see the same topics posted repeatedly by different people. If you don't have first-hand experience installing any of the Stage 1 upgrades found on this page, you should be posting most of your performance questions in the Newbie Forum.

AND

TURBO QUESTIONS - your first question will likely be what turbo to upgrade to, even if you're not ready to upgrade it (and most members aren't). We recommend typing in keywords in the Search bar at the top to find discussions about specific turbos. We are very strict on how turbos are discussed simply because too much incorrect information gets passed around, and vendor competition usually plays a negative role in the decision making process. To find out how to get the info you're looking for on turbos, click here and read these tips. If you don't have firsthand experience installing any of the Stage 1 upgrades found on this page, you shouldn't be asking about turbos yet anyway, and should be posting most of your engine performance questions in the Newbie Forum.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY NEWBIES WILL LEARN TO READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN COVERED OVER 300 TIMES, ITS CALLED TOUGH LOVE :dsm:

Calm down there Capt. Rules. Is the first thing you do in a forum is go read rules? I know i don't. Remember you were a "noob" once. If you walked into a forum to some guy was yelling at you would you come back?

Btw, my friend has one, he loves it. However, i might add some people have had problems with this turbo. Myself i like the 20g. Good on pump and has nice top end.

Good luck, and dont think everyone on this site is like him.

I went from the Ttoosmall to a 16G then to that same turbo that you are looking at. It's a really nice turbo. It does have a little more lag than the 16G but even at 15 PSI the car MOVES.

The SCM50 is an excellent turbo that is great that will put you into 400hp with supporting mods and proper tuning. The EVO and T-28 are also great turbos that will spool quicker but make a less power on the mid and top end of the power band. I think thats as much a s i can say about it.

And while we're on the topic of rules, 1. No "Use the Search" replies, and 2. No Insults and/or name calling - this can get you banned without warning - we don't care how experiences or knowledgable you are, don't be a smart ass!

Little bit of pot calling the kettle black.

LOL!

SCM50 is the turbo I have. Second 50trim turbo I've owned. These turbos suit me perfectly because they allow you to still have fun on the streets, while also allowing you to get pretty respectable times at the track. But since you are even asking these kind of questions, I would recommend starting off with something smaller. Because with a scm50, there's a handfull of supporting mods you'll want to already have to complement the turbo. But something like a T28 you can bolt right up with minnimal supporting mods, and will allow you to learn more before jumping into the larger turbos.
