A few weeks ago my power steering belt decided to fall off the pulley and get shredded up so i ripped it out and dealt with no power steering for a day. The next day me and my buddy decided it was a wobbly air conditioning pulley that threw the belt off so i still didnt put the belt back on but instead removed the ac compressor and got another belt that only goes from the power steering pump to the crank but I put the belt on and my problem is that whenever i put it on and everything is back in place the pump and the bolts back in and its tightened and everything when i start the car the belt falls off immediately i have done this twice and i can not figure out why the belt wont stay on any ideas?

how is the tension of the belt when you put it on. it sounds like it doesn't have enough tension to hold the belt on. also how is the PS pump if you sin it does it spin freely and staright, meaning no wobbels. the belt should be on tight and you should only have about 1/8" deflection.

the belt seems to be tight enough and the pulley doesnt seem to wobble i guess ill look harder though

check for imperfections in the pulleys themselves. make sure its the correct belt. double check that you are properly tightening the tensioner (both bolts) and make sure the tensioner isnt bad.

*edit*

i should mention i was having a similar problem when i first bought my N/T. it was due to being improperly tensioned. it appeared to be fine, but was just loose enough that the belt would derail within 5-10 minutes.
