Im trying to change out my power steering pump with another one I got from the junkyard, but I cant seem to get the last hose off, it is connected with a really big crimp type metal piece, and the only way I can see to get it off is removing a 20mm (guessing on the size) nut on top. I dont know if I am supposed to take off that big nut, but I dont have any sockets that will fit it, and a adjustable wrench just starts to wear off the edges. Anyone help?

It says remove the tube, not how to remove it, heres some pics:

this is what the side connected to the car looks like, very stiff and hard to reach, couldn;t even move the tube above to get to it

this is what it looks like from the top, tried removing that big bolt with the 8 mark on it, no success

guy at the junkyard cut the tubes for some stupid reason

the tube is crimped to a metal piece and the metal piece is welded on

sry is the images are not so clear, best i could do and i need help on this badly

update i got ahold of a 7/8" wrench and it fits the bolt perfectly, but it wont turn, i read somewhere that heating some screws helps loosen them, is this one of those cases or is there another way to take it off...i dont have a vice

Is it already off the car? Is so, reinstall it (but not all the way) and use the mount for leverage on breaking that I-Bolt. It is going to be tight because thats how it seals to reduce leakage issues.

no i didn;t wanna break the hose so i just put the broken one back in and connected everything again. didn;t even thknk about using the car as a vice, ill try it 2moro almost 2 am here and im sleepy as can be, thx for the info

finally got the new used pump in, works perfectly

only thing i noticed is when i wot, rpms about 4500+ i lose a lot of the power steering, i think because the belt is not tight enough. the top screw is not all the way towards the front of the guide so i guess i need to pull it a little more then screw it again, will try 2moro, success though, my first car part change

custom intake next
