Long story short I put the long bolt on the bottom and it felt like it snaped something then the pump starting leaking. So I backed out the bolt and put it on the top part. (These are the mounting bracket bolts for the pump.)
I put the wrong (longer) bolt on the bottom instead of the right (shorter bolt) there. I forgot what went where..
So i guess i seperated the to housings and nicked the gasket.
Could I just bend the gasket back and put it back together?

You could grind off any burrs or raise that it has caused to the gasket as long as it doesn't effect the rubber part, clean everything real good and put a small amount of rtv on both sides of the housing where the gasket goes and try that should seal.

Thanks thats what im doing now.
I just took a dremel to the gasket and shaved it even.
I am cleaning it with B-12 CHEMTOOL.
Which RTV to you recommend?

Well all i could find is Permatex 2 FORM A GASKET SELANT NON-HARDRNING PLIABLE SEALANT.
I will try that.

You want to use something that can handle oil. The RTV should say it is safe for use with oil/petroleum.

I usually just jack up the front of the car, pour fluid in and work the wheel left to right slowly. This will push all the air thru the lines and pull fluid into the rack. After you stop hearing air in it and the level isn't dropping any more i start it and go left and right a few times than check the fluid.
