power stearing over flow

it was -50 out side and I started my car to leave from work and I hear a BOOM and I lost my ps. I look around under the hood cant see anything so I drive home with no ps the next morning I look and right where my break master cylinder the hose I found was off from my ps so I put it back on added fluid and now its full but it keeps spitting the fluid back out of the fill hole. how do I stop this ?

Maybe you have moisture in there and it froze in the line.

You have air in the system. I just replaced my rack and had this same exact issue (over flow). Just turn your steering wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right like 20 times
(leave it for about 5 seconds each time)or until squeaking noise goes away. Oh, make sure you add power steering fluid along the way, leave the reservoir uncovered. So after 5 times to the left and 5 times to the right, add a little.

Maybe you refilled it with power stearing fluid instead of power steering fluid. just kidding.

I agree with Hakmak though. Turn the steering wheel from stop to stop (back & forth) while adding fluid until it won't take anymore fluid and it's topped off.

I had the same issue with my steering fluid puking back out after filling and so forth. I would let the car run, fill the reservoir, and have a friend turn the wheels back and forth. Went for a test drive... all was good. Shut off the car, then it puked up the fluid. I assumed air was still in the rack, or lines, or something. But no matter how many times the wheels were turned back and forth, which was MANY, it never helped and I'm still without p/s. Luckily here at my dealership we have a p/s steering fluid exchanger machine which I'll be using to help attempt curing this issue.

Air in the line will cause it to foam out through the cap. Like Hakmak said, turn lock to lock about 15 or so times and it should work itself out. You'll also need to being the RPMs up a bit while doing it. Anywhere in the 3K range is sufficient.
