Hello,

It seems that some sort of motor, or something is going out on my power locks. My battery kept getting drained if I left my doors unlocked, and when I would shut the doors it would automatically try to lock the doors, but it's not strong enough to push the button over, on both sides.

What would be the cause of whatever not being strong enough to push the lock over?

thanks!

have you pulled the door panels to check that the rods are not binding in the doors? This would be for the movement for the lock.

I do not really know to much about what's under the door panel, so I was looking to get some guidance before I pull some stuff off, and screw something up!

ok, door panels are easy to pull. you will have 6 screws to remove andit will basically pop of from there.

here is a link with a little more details without pics.

how do i remove door panels? - Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum

i will usually do this first and make sure everything moves freely, then move on to relays and actuators next.

Hope this helps on the doors panel removal.

The first thing to check is the lock rods. The weathe barrier is put on with a tar like adhesive and it will sometimes cause the rods to bind up. During the hot weather it softens and can ooze onto the rods. I had that happen on my passenger side door.
