So I'm working on this 94 n/a 4g63 Auto.
I noticed that I had some cut wires under the console and I just found out they are supposed to go to the Power Eco switch.
I can get a new switch and put it in that isn't an issue.
What I want to know is does having this disconnected harm anything?
I have unplugged the wires from the plug on the car already.
This car seems to be stuck in limp mode, I was wondering if this might be why?
Thanks

limp mode. like taking off slow or what. or does it not move at all. i had this same problem with my 1993 eclipse gs 2.0 automatic. my car started and drove without the switch but it didnt move untill it hit over 2300 RPM's or something like that and when it did it didnt feel like it really had any more power than the flintstones car. sorry its been 4 years seence i had my 1993 and im just going off of bad memories. LOL.

I think it is in limp mode because it is really sluggish.
it will move but it does it at a normal rpm.
Ive looked around for a new switch and they seem pretty hard to find.
If that doesnt fix it then im thinking tcm and then valve body and so forth.

If those cut wires grounded at any time when the ignition was on, it could have blown the 10amp (4 A/T BOITE) fuse that's at the drivers side kick panel, resulting in limp mode...
If your un-clear if your in limp mode or not, un-plug the TCU and go for a drive..If it changed nothing, your in limp mode...

Im pretty sure i have that switch in my other car. I have an automatic center console and it has the switch on it, but its not connected to anything since im 5 speed. You need it?

Yea I swapped out the cut wires with a loom that isnt hacked but the button is damaged, so now it says power all the time.
I found that a/t fuse and it was blown.
Replaced it but the car seems kinda funny still.
The TCM is located under the passenger carpet right?
Can i swap out te TCM with one from a 91 auto?
Because I have one laying around.
"cookmeup" how much for that switch?
PM me please about it.
And thanks for the help guys this car is getting better everyday!

The TCU is laying flat behind the ECU and held in by three 12mm nuts..
Your 94 TCU has two yellow plugs going to it, the extra 91 TCU you have is for the older three plug harness and will not work...
Take the cover off your 94 TCU and see if there is any damage to the board..
Have you verified if its in limp mode yet ?

eh....
This is on my room mates car and he doesn't seem to want to do anything with it but let it sit in the driveway.Or just let me do all the work to it for free.
So no I haven't even messed with it, since I asked him to help me pull the TCU and run a test drive and he didn't "feel" like it.
Even though I wanna go out and mess with the car I've just let it sit.
It gets old when people just expect you to fix every car problem they have, with out even as much as a thank you.....
