I installed my speakers and a pioneer head unit today and realized the when i listen to the radio the power antenna wont go up my HU has a blue wire coming from for the antenna but i don't know what the antenna wire coming from the car looks like:confused: (color, shape, etc.). Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.(Yes i searched for the answer first but i just couldn't find the exact thing I'm looking for) Also it worked perfectly fine before the install.:dsm:

Did you buy a stereo wire harness/audio adapter for Mitsubishi or did you cut into the factory wires?

I'm not sure if all aftermarket headunits have it but some have a wire lead for power antennas. Usually also blue, but separate than the amp on wire.

If you have the mitsubishi wiring harness for your install I believe that has a power antenna lead, match it up to the decks and all should be well.

If that is what you did, double check your wiring, or maybe your power antenna broke (noticed its common).

Or your deck doesn't have a separate power antenna wire, meaning the install harness has its wire antenna connected to nothing?

If that is your scenario, then I believe you can attach it with the amp turn on wire from the deck? IM NOT SURE THOUGH, so double check or maybe someone can confirm.

Or you didn't use a wiring harness at all and you just cut/hack the stock one? If thats the case, check vfaq or here on tuners, for diagram for our stock harness to find the antenna wire to mate up with your decks antenna lead, or amp turn on (SEE ABOVE).

The wire for the power antenna is White/Black stripe. Hook it up to your blue wire on the deck. If your radio doesn't have a blue wire for power antenna use the blue/white. It's an amp turn on wire so your antenna would stay up when cd's are playing.

Woa woa woa... the Eclipse side of the harness... what wire is it for the power antenna? I thought it was that little gray wire that looks like the antenna wire, except smaller?

Thanks for the help and yes i did cut/hack the wires because the people at circuit city said thats what they do and i wasn't going to pay them to do something i can do myself. Once again thanks. :thumb: :dsm:

Earlier today i connected the blue/white remote power wire from the head unit to the white/black wire coming from the car. The antenna goes up and down now but stays up when i play cds which doesnt bother me. Thanks again for the help everyone.

no problem. thanks for confirming that I was right.

If your annoyed by it always being up, you can wire up a switch, but thats going overboard for so little gain IMO.

Your power antenna will eventually stop working anyways, its bound to happen. Don't worry. :thumb: ROFL
