I didn't make the post to start a "who better" post.

Your idea is slick, I'd be interested when you have pictures of it installed.

FYI, mine does direct the air towards the filter just fine, logging shows that the inlet temp is normally with in 10 degrees of ambient temp.

how do you guys get around with only one headlight, or are your cars not street cars?

No I'm sure yours does, the problem is that in my car my air filter is almost directly behind the coolant overflow bottle so yours would only get air in the vicinity of it. Plus the major reason I did mine was to be different and use up the fiberglass I had laying around.

For the average joe looking for something like this your idea would be a better alternative for them rather than playing around with fiberglass, plus yours doesn't require they own a spare headlight they can sacrifice.

I do run dual functional headlights on the street for those interested. I'm currently thinking of plans for the other headlight. I'm thinking I could mount an oil cooler behind the bumper cover and direct air to it using the headlight possibly. This leaves me room to use the front bumper vents at each side to cool the brakes :sneaky: we'll just have to see how that looks once I get the front bumper off.

can you still be street legal if you have your air duct in during the daylight hours? or is your headlight supposed to be there all the time? just a little curious

I'm sure it's illegal to run with the headlight missing, what happens if a storm comes and your supposed to have your lights on.

Plus it would be hard to get out of a speeding ticket with the headlight out...
"really officier, I wasn't racing/speeding/etc. Oh the the missing headlight? That's so I get cool air to my engine to go faster....nevermind... give me the ticket!"

Yea I'm not sure about the legality of it. If you intend to do it often I'd avise a good set of driving lights in place of the foglights just in case.

Personally mine will be a track only piece that gets switched back out for daily driving.
