has anyone here had any sort of experience, good or bad, with a fmic purchased from ebay? i'm curious as to what people that have them or have had them say about them.

I bought a 20.5"x9"x2.5" core intercooler (28" wide overall), tube and fin style. It was cheap, as large as I wanted, and it shipped quickly. Installation was actually easier than I thought it would be. The only problem with it is an odd size for the inlet/outlets: 2.75". It's hard to find couplers, transition hoses, and pipes to work with that. Also, it didn't come with bolts, just the nuts welded on the top and bottom of the intercooler. So I had to go out and find bolts to fit at Home Depot. Now I have to get pipes for it. I guess if I had more money, I'd go with a kit that included all the hardware, pipes, and couplers, but if you're on a budget like I am, it's a decent way to go.

Not the biggest intercooler on the road, but it should work well for a 14b turbo, and then whatever I upgrade that to.

i got the 8" Johnny Racecar FMIC off of his site, and 6 pipes off ebay for 130$ and it worked just fine, and im very pleased...

goto ebay and search 2.5" intercooler piping

I purchased an Ebay IC, and it looks like the one that Mrboxx bought. I wasn't thrilled with the IC and ended up selling it a couple days ago. I only found 1 guy within 200 miles that could do mandrel bends and he wanted $400 to make the lower bends in aluminum. When all was said and done, the Greddy kit seemed to be my best bet and would match the upper greddy pipes already installed. -matt

I bought mine from ebay mainly because I wanted something that'll fit my real old eclipse bumper design with minor cutting and trimming, So i found one thats 31x6.5x3, fits just fine, and does a real good job... 2.5" polished piping made from aluminum also from ebay, the whole deal end up costing me around $350 and my 14b seems to like it alot...

Hot on one side of the intercooler real cold on the other. thats why I choose longer rather than taller... gives it a little more travel for the air temperature to cool. Not saying its the best design, or the greatest, but for my mods works great for me...!

I sell some on ebay actually that are custom made. Everyone loves the kit, only problem is I need the money up front to do each kit due to finances right now and shipping takes a bit. 500.00 shipped for a complete kit, aluminum piping, gorgeous intercooler and all mounting stuff. So I am happy with the kits I sell. Jk. I wasnt happy with the kits I saw on ebay, price wise and such so I made mine and thought more people could benefit from it.

I thought about getting one when i did mine but found a guy trying to sell his stock EVO8 Intercooler... Works GREAT install was very easy. I am good friends with a few guys at our local exhaust shop. They let me use there bending tools and lift to make the pipes.


After all that... Its a good buy if you can find one.
