Possible bad flywheel?

Ok i just put my motor back together after spinning a bearing and i was have a starting issue. it was winding out bad so i bought a new starter and put it in and still winds out for about 3 seconds then starts and runs fine. it does this every time i try to fire it up. someone told me to shim it and try it......still nothing. so i pulled my transfer case to better see the flywheel and there doesnt look like there is any teeth missing but the teeth are beat up a bit. i dont really know what they look like new but the tips are shiny from grinding. i need this fixed asap. please give me any advise i am willing to try anything. thanks guys.

Are all of your bolts into the transmission?

Are they tight?

No shimming is needed for these starters.

ya its all tight and all bolts are accounted for. i thought shimming it sounded kinda half ass anyways.

Are your flywheel bolts themselves tight?

Also, did you remove your emissions equipment?

Plugging one of the lines ( Can't remember which) causes problems starting up the car when it's warm.

If theres no grinding, i wouldn't say it's a bad flywheel.

Edit: I thought about it, check for vac leaks.
Hows your compression.

How is your MAF?

everything is fine there is a grinding noise coming from that area. i tried to get a picture but it didnt turn out
