I probably wont hit 11s until I get some stickier tires. 11s would make my day, though! The supporting mods will be there. The motor and tranny were dropped off yesterday at English. There are quite a few E16G E85 4G63s in the 11s, but I wonder what they are using for tires.

I forgot to tell you when we were on the phone, your secret better not be nitrous... that doesnt count!

I just put a down payment on my new tranny from English yesterday. Double synchro 2, 3, 4 and a welded center diff. My new PTT clutch should be here tomorrow also. Once I get those in the car I'll be gunning for 10s!! We'll see... :sneaky:

Seems that there are going to be a few running english's trans. I hope to get mine soon. It is a decent amount to drop but worth the save$. Be nice to dominate the comp with these cars. I got my AEM EMS just a few weeks ago. So as soon as its complete it will need your graces Lucas. This should be a good year of racing. :hellyeah:

Sony, thats funny, Im going with the same tranny. double synchroing 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and welding the center. How much of a pounding will these trannys take once theyre built like this? I know it depends on how you treat it, but if I build it, Im going to drive it! Mines going to be daily driven...

I dropped my stuff off at English yesterday. Were you actually at the shop?

Ryan, methanol?

Nah, my name is Mike.

I wasn't there. I called Aaron up and put half down on the tranny. Since this is currently my daily driver, they are going to pre-build me one of their cores to cut back on downtime. This tranny setup has always been very stout and reliable for Lucas over the years. With the addition of less expensive twin-disk clutches for DSMs and Evos, these trannies seem to be last much longer and shifting much better than in previous years.

I made 405awhp/372tq. a few weeks ago but my 4th gear is dead and my ACT 2900 sucks at shifting, so racing right now would be a waste. Within the month I should have the clutch and tranny in the car and we'll see what this setup can really do!!!

If you read about Lucas's transmissions you will learn that they will take the abuse. "Our cars have had 1000s 1/4mi passes with lots of street abuse. If a shop tells you their race transmission will never break they are not telling you the truth." this is from their site.

Ryan, you either spend a little more money now, or a lot more money later. Bring it over some time and we can rip it out (or I can help at your place if you have the tools). You should just tell us what it is you wont tell us. We'll eventually find out, you know.

Ya its nothing much... i have a good 1gen transmission from my old car on the side of my house that i was going to upgrade, but i know the vr4 one has more of a first gear in it then the 1gen tranny have so im still thinking of my next move... :banghead:

Ditch that VR4 1st gear, its nice that its taller, but its also weaker. Lucas is puting a DSM 1st in my tranny. I cant believe youve went this long on the stock GVR4 tranny, you must drive like an old man :hmm:

:p

Hang in there bro, things will get better before you know it. We're so used to living on low wages and when things do turn around, we'll be sittin pretty high as long as we make it through. Feel free to give me a call if you need help.

Back on topic... anyone going to the track this weekend? Im going to try bum a ride down there on saturday to check out the competition. Friday wont work for me, Im going to the Blazer game.

I may be coming down tomorrow (Friday) but I doubt I'll be running my car. 1st-3rd gears would be ok, but 4th is a whole different story and shifting 1-2-3-5 would be dumb so I dunno...

You guys all crack me up ROFL. The Turd did not throw the ring gear off the fly wheel it only broke a tail shaft in the T case.

I was also trying to get my drag car out this weekend but weather isn't gonna play nice, maybe next weekend at woodburn. We'll see Jeff

Hmm... Guess I was wrong about the flywheel. Aaron had just mentioned that the Turd had thrown the ring gear when I was talking to him about my new PTT. I guess he meant that it had happened in the past. We were talking about spot welding the ring gear to my new flywheel.

:p

How did it go friday night any good runs!!:sneaky:

Lucas went 9.6@144 in the Turd...

I took my car out just to get an idea of what I could look forward to this season. I went 12.2@118 with a crappy 1.9 60' and granny shifting the hell out of 4th. I lost all my momentum, but it's the only way the car will stay in 4th right now.

That doesn't matter because I destroyed my center diff on my 3rd run. Car wheel hopped really bad and all of a sudden the car pulled really hard to the right. Made a nice clunk turning into the pits. Already had a down payment on a new tranny from Lucas and a PTT twin disk waiting to go in, so it's all good. HAHA!

Very nice sounds like your car has alot more to give.. well right on for you and the turd 9.6 very impressive time,i would hope for my car to gets the times your car gets.. to scared to break right now but im anticipating some good for this season..:hmm:

Ryan, I cant wait to line up next to you. Two early nineties family sedans pull up and turn 12 second quarters. Itll be fun and will have people scratching their heads. Just get that tranny in to Lucas so he can build the tranny so you can actually DRIVE the car.

I ran into a problem today... my boost gauge only reads up to 30psi :(

:)
